Datacenter Information
vps.direct datacenter locations, the Looking Glass, and how to check network status.
Datacenter Information
vps.direct hosts virtual servers across Europe and North America on Tier-1 network backbones for low latency. Availability and setup time vary by location.
Locations
| Location | Status | Setup |
|---|---|---|
| Warsaw, Poland | Active | Instant (2–5 min) |
| Frankfurt, Germany | Planned | ~1 day delivery |
| USA | Coming soon | — |
The USA location is still rolling out. Region names and availability may change — confirm current stock and exact regions in the Client Area before ordering.
Network backbone
All locations connect through secure Tier-1 networks with AES-256 encryption in transit and at rest. This is designed for low-latency routing and redundancy across regions.
Test before you order
Looking Glass
Run ping, traceroute, and routing tests from vps.direct network locations to compare latency before you buy.
Network Status
Live service availability, ongoing incidents, and scheduled maintenance.
Using the Looking Glass
The Looking Glass lets you test connectivity from a vps.direct location without deploying a server. Use it to:
- Run
pingandtraceroutefrom each location - Check routing from a specific region to your users
- Compare latency between locations before choosing
- Verify upstream connectivity
Choosing a location
Pick the location closest to most of your users to minimise latency:
- European users → Warsaw (active now), Frankfurt when available
- North American users → USA location when available
- Global / anycast-style needs → deploy one VPS per region and load-balance
You can run a quick latency test from your own machine to each location's Looking Glass to make a data-driven choice. Lower round-trip time means a faster experience for your users.
Compliance
vps.direct is GDPR-compliant and follows international privacy standards. Data residency depends on the location you select at order time.
